Abandonment? Us? Never. Such word is geared towards a choice. Jesus will never abandon us. He never has and never will but I have abandon Him at a time in my life until that day is called me to stay. To stay with Him. To give up my way of being and take up His way of living. I knew something was missing. Something more. I needed more and it was and still is Him. To believe in Jesus is righteous eternity “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. That whosoever believes in Him and confess that He is Lord will be saved” John 3:16. However there is another step. God does not only want you to be saved but He wants your heart. Discipleship. Love. Commitment. Intimacy. Personal Knowledge of Him. Abandon. This is what it is. Cherishing our God by how we live and being obedient to Christ’s teaching. His standard is the highest standard. Will we abandon everything else? Let the profound Oswald Chambers teach us through his life of following Jesus. Why not start to today with the beginning of the year. Let us trust entirely on Him and lead us to the great venture of blessing and devotion.
