You might be telling yourself oh great another year and I’m still single and another blog post to remind me of that. Well yes this is a blog post and yes we will be talking about singleness however this post may not be what you think it is. This my friend is encouragement from me to you because just so it happens, I’m also in the same boat. I’ve been in the single’s boat for 10 years now. If there’s anyone who is more than annoyed at so called posts about all is well if you’re single it’s me lol. This is just uplifting my sisters who have the same longing for companionship in God’s arrangement as I do. The other night I was watching a Christmas movie with my mom and the theme was around hope in difficult times. Times where you don’t know what’s around the corner and things look so hopeless that things just go from bad to worst. But God. Don’t you just love how God steps in into our messes and saves lol. The movie plays and an angel from the Lord gets sent to help strengthen and give hope to those they are assigned too. I’m an actress and a hopeless romantic so I would like to believe that even though I am no angel I want to be a strength to those who are feeling sometimes the struggle and loneliness of being single especially during the holiday season. To give you hope. After finishing the movie it left me feeling some sort of way. Their wasn’t a happily ever after like most movies. The difficult process the characters had to go through was still there but they also had one thing. To continue on knowing that God was with them. God came through with the strength. God came through with hope. God came through with perseverance. It taught me and gave me that same thing. I do believe in happily ever after’s but God also taught me the journey behind it all to get to know Him in our relationship. The Bible says “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who have a crushed spirit” Psalm 34:18. I love that don’t you? Not only is Jesus right here with us in our reliance for God to give us a mate in Holy marriage but He also saves our sad spirit in the waiting. He is that kind of a God. He is the only God. Let that be of comfort to you. I know it has been with me in this season. Also “Everything under heaven is but a season” Eccel 3:1. This includes your single season too as well. Just as the seasons go from fall to winter to spring to summer so do things in our lives. Now of course I can’t tell you when that will be and neither do I know that for myself. All I know is that there is a God in Heaven who loves each and every person and “those who walk uprightly God will not withhold anything good from them” Psalm 84:11. Jesus is much closer than we know and is interested every area of our lives including our love life. If you are single and you also have single friends who you know are really ready to be a wife. I would just encourage them too this season. To give them the gift of hope. Tis the season of hope and don’t we know our world needs a lot more of. Keep on hoping. Keep on praying. Keep on living for the Lord. My sister! Nothing shall be impossible for The Lord(Luke 1:37)
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Love Ashley
