MY HEPHZIBAH

I love dreams. Dreams we get when we are asleep. When God has put in us dreams of goals and successes. Of different aspirations making us driven and passionate to reach them. I hate nightmares of course but the good ones I love. I’ve heard children ask why do we dream? I respond “ Ummm we just do”. I’ve kept saying that but it is wasn’t till recently that maybe my response wasn’t quite the real truth. Why do we dream? Why do I dream? What are dreams? Are they some random weird pictures after eating pizza or Chinese for dinner? Are they the last thing we think about before falling into a deep sleep? Or are they something more wonderful? More meaningful? Have you ever thought that Almighty God the Creator of the universe had a dream about you? If we( human beings) are made in Gods image(Genesis 1:27) and God has instilled in us to dream then that must mean that God dreams too. There are many stories in The Bible that tells us that God blessed certain people to dream while they were sleeping. The story of Abraham. The story of Jacob. The story Adam and Eve. The story of Mary and Joseph. The story of Joseph etc. But these dreams were either messages, warnings or plans of God.
“For God does speak—now one way, now another—    though no one perceives it.In a dream, in a vision of the night,    when deep sleep falls on people    as they slumber in their beds,he may speak in their ears    and terrify them with warnings,to turn them from wrongdoing    and keep them from pride,to preserve them from the pit,    their lives from perishing by the sword.”Job 33:14-18 NIV
God is so kind and merciful that He will speak to us to protect, to nurture, to guide but to also let us know this about us.
“ Before I formed you in your mother’s womb … I knew you. “ Jeremiah 1:5
By this passage I believe God was saying “ Before I made you sweetheart I dreamt of you. “
Let that sit still in your heart for a moment. That your Creator dreamt of you, of what you look like, of your life, of your gifts and talents, of your future and He saw and knew you. How wonderful and beautiful is that?! I love Jeremiah 29:11. I know a lot of people know this passage but I absolutely love it in the Message Translation which reads
“ This is God’s Word. I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out. Plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for”.
“ The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy but I(Jesus) have come to give them life and life over flowing “ (John 10:10).
“O Lord, our God, no one can compare with you.    Such wonderful works and miracles are all found with you!    And you think of us all the time    with your countless expressions of love—    far exceeding our expectations!” Psalm 40:5 Passion Translation

I love Mother Teresa’s quote “ Life is a dream realize it.” God realized this. He realized you. Your life the right here and now. God wants you to know today that you are His dream. The dream to be His. The dream that you would be so close to Him. To spend to everyday together. To be with Him for all eternity(John 3:16). To live your life for Him so that He can give you the desires of your heart( psalm 37:4). Your life is God’s Magnum Opus it’s Latin meaning “greatest work”. Remember Jesus is life and His desire is to give you life abundantly. That’s why I love the Word of God it actually says about itself that “ it’s the living and breathing Word of God”(Hebrews 4:12).The Bible is a constant reminder of life for us. So what does all contain? I encourage you read the promises of God. Meditate and write them down. Speak them over your life and watch how God will move mightily in your life. Remember He loves you and is for you. Walk in His love and grace for His goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life. In Jesus name Amen!

Happy Dreaming.
