I love how God describes Himself. I feel such power when He says “ I am GOD ALMIGHTY “(Genesis 17:1)! Such compassion when He says “Come to Me and I will give you rest”(Matthew 11:28-30). In my morning time with Jesus my devotional listed Jeremiah 31. It’s a beautiful story how God re-loves if that’s a word lol Israel. No matter how many times they fail He is always compassionate to bring them to Himself again and again. I’m so glad we have a Father who loves us that much. That nothing will get in the way of Him loving us. This one verse happen to stuck out to me and it is this.
“ I am God who fully satisfies the weary heart and replenishes every languishing and sorrowful person(Jeremiah 31:25).
How absolutely beautiful is this. This is the heart of our God. He not only loves you to bring you back to Himself(the cross) but He cares and sees right where you’re at in your walk of life. I remember when I was weary. Before I died to Christ I was just another teenager looking and wanting approval from the world. My parents, school mates and boys. I was always comparing myself to the prettiest girl in school. Trying to fit in. When really now I know I was meant to stand out and apart. The Kings daughter. I was weary and needed of rest and security. Jesus is the way, truth and life! He invited me gently. Opened His arms wide to me and I rushed in.
I’ve learned Jesus just wants us. Just us. He wants us to come to Him like in the earlier scripture. Every time when we are weary. Every time we are sorrowful. He turns mourning into dancing( Pslam 30:11-11). If Daddy says every sorrowful person He means every person. Im continuing to learn that God is a God of restoration. He always gives better what we have lost. He’s that good. Trust Him to do that for you. I trust that He will do that for me in what I recently lost. Keep going to your savior Jesus. He will comfort and heal. How beautiful and loving is Jesus. Let’s pray.
Dear Father
I thank you that you are the kindest that there is. Thank you that you see and care for us right where we are at. Your loving kindness goes forth from generation to generation. I thank you when we are sorrowful you are right there with us and you restore what was broken and lost. We praise Lord Jesus we give you honor!
